Sammy Chiu is a product leader and coach. He currently leads a team of product managers building AI productivity tools to help people save time. He coaches other leaders and aspiring leaders, many of whom are from underrepresented groups.
Sammy has worked in the technology industry for over 14 years under a variety of roles from software engineering, consulting, product management, to people leadership. The products he’s worked on have been used by millions of people to make their lives more efficient so that they can focus on what matters most to them. The common thread that weaves through his work is people empowerment.
In his work as a leadership and career coach, Sammy has helped others from underrepresented groups develop the confidence and skills to achieve their career goals, often navigating the challenges of oppressive cultures and systems. He calls these people waymakers, as their success breaks the barriers that enable others like them to also succeed. He coaches with empathy, compassion, and patience, and by drawing from his own experiences in leadership while being Asian, first-gen, and part of the LGBT community. He believes everyone deserves a fair chance to succeed, no matter your gender identity, race, ethnicity, physical ability, how your brain works, or who you love.
